Dr. Murthi is chief of the shoulder and elbow service in the University of Maryland Department of Orthopaedics and an assistant professor of orthopaedics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
Dr. Murthi received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed his general surgery internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at George Washington University Medical Center. He completed the internationally recognized fellowship in shoulder and elbow reconstruction at the New York Orthopaedic Hospital-Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center.
He is the current editor for the shoulder and elbow sections of the international journal Current Opinions in Orthopaedics. He has published and presented numerous research papers on a national and international stage. He is currently a journal reviewer for the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. As a teacher he has been involved in teaching physicians around the country surgical techniques in shoulder and elbow surgery. He is current president and founding member of the Association of Clinical Elbow and Shoulder Surgeons (ACESS) group.
Dr. Murthi specializes in the treatment of complex shoulder and elbow reconstruction, shoulder and elbow arthritis, shoulder and elbow replacement surgery, shoulder and elbow fractures, rotator cuff pathology, shoulder and elbow instability (dislocations), injuries in the throwing athlete, neurologic diseases of the shoulder, arthroscopic surgery, revision surgery, repetitive motion disorders, frozen shoulder, and sports-related shoulder and elbow problems.
Dr. Murthi's research interests include biomechanics of the shoulder and elbow, tissue engineering, novel surgical techniques, minimally invasive arthroscopic surgical techniques, and outcomes studies on shoulder and elbow surgery.

Vincent
D. Pellegrini, Jr., M.D.
Dr.
Pellegrini is the James Lawrence Kernan Professor and Chair of the Department
of Orthopaedics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Pellegrini
previously served as the chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation
at the Pennsylvania State University, College of Medicine, and the Milton S.
Hershey Medical Center, where he was also the C. McCollister Evarts Professor
of Orthopaedics.
He received his medical degree from the Dartmouth Medical School and completed his general surgery residency at Hartford Hospital. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital, where he was chief resident and part of the limb replantation team. Dr. Pellegrini also completed a fellowship in surgery of the hand and upper extremity at the University of Rochester and the Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Pellegrini's clinical interests and expertise includes adult reconstructive/joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee and hand/upper extremity surgery. His research interests include thromboembolic disease, the control of heterotopic ossification, osteonecrosis, and causative factors in osteoarthritis. He has published many articles, lectured at professional meetings nationally and internationally and is the recipient of numerous honors and awards. In addition to serving on the editorial review board and consultant to several journals, Dr. Pellegrini is currently the editor in chief of Current Opinion in Orthopaedics and a member of the board of associate editors for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.

Dr. Zlotolow, a hand and upper extremity orthopaedic specialist, is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics in the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
Most recently, Dr. Zlotolow performed fellowships in adult and pediatric hand orthopaedics at St. Lukes Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City and the Scottish Rite Hospital. Dr. Zlotolow completed his orthopaedic residency at Montefoire Medical Center in New York following a clinical research fellowship. A member of the AOA honor medical society, Dr. Zlotolow graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
Dr. Zlotolow has received numerous awards and honors during his training, including the 2003 and 2004 Selznick Memorial Research Presentation Award. He also has an extensive research portfolio and has a number of open clinical trials. He has co-authored many book chapters, including Spinal Stenosis in Orthopedics and has been published in the journals Spine, Orthopaedics, and Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr. Silverman is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Silverman has experience in facial and nasal reconstruction, skin cancer resection, burn reconstruction, complex wound management, general reconstructive surgery, as well as facial and breast cosmetic surgery. He maintains a clinical and research interest in skin cancer resection and facial/nasal reconstruction and is currently involved in research projects focused on tissue engineering for reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Silverman is also a member of the Kernan Hospital Cleft Lip and Palate team. After receiving his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine where he was awarded the Wayne W. Dr. Eglseder is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Chief, Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery, and attending Orthopaedic Traumatologist at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. He received his medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and served his residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Eglseder also completed a fellowship in Hand Surgery at the University of Louisville.
Dr. Eglseder's teaching activities include serving as an orthopaedic trauma attending for the Hospital for Joint Diseases, National Naval Medical Center, The Union Memorial Hospital, University of Maryland Medical Center, Walter Reed Army Medical Center and The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
