Kernan Hospital to Hold Third Annual Adapted Sports Festival

Kernan Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation Hospital will be holding an Adapted Sports Festival on Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) is partnering with Heart & Soul Magazine on a health conference for women called “The Healthy, Wealthy, Wise and Beautiful Conference and Expo.”

Kernan Hospital Receives Neilsen Foundation Grant in Support of Spinal Cord Program

Kernan has received a grant from the Neilsen Foundation for use in support of the hospital's spinal cord injury program. The Neilsen Foundation provides funds that support innovative rehabilitation programs for individuals with spinal cord injuries. Proceeds from the grant to Kernan will provide equipment to help individuals re-enter the community as actively and productively as possible.

Kernan Hospital, its Board of Trustees and Endowment Boards recently hosted a celebration as the hospital's Progressive Care Unit was renamed in honor of Kenneth F. Spence, Jr., M.D.
