Andrew Abramowitz, M.D.

Dr. Abramowitz practices general pediatric orthopaedic surgery and has special expertise in the orthopaedic treatment of neuromuscular disorders such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and muscular dystrophy (in both children and adults). Dr. Abramowitz received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Boston University and served his residency at the Boston University Medical Center and Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield, MA. Dr. Abramowitz completed a Pediatric Orthopaedic Fellowship at the Gillette Children's Hospital and the Shriners Hospital for Children in Minnesota. He also did a fellowship in Limb Lengthening and Deformity at the Minnesota Limb Length Center with Dr. Mark Dahl.

Dr. Abramowitz's clinical experience includes working at the Nemours Children's Clinic in Orlando, FL, and the Shriners Hospital for Children in Shreveport, LA. He also worked with teaching residents in both of those settings and was the assistant director of the gait lab in the Shreveport Shriners Hospital. He currently practices general pediatric orthpaedics in Mt. Airy, MD, as part of Maryland Pediatric Orthopaedic Center. He is a member of the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine as well as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Abramowitz is board certified in orthopaedic surgery, author of numerous publications and presentations, and has significant experience in treating pediatric orthopaedic patients.
