Outpatient Therapy Services

Program for Patients with Pulmonary Conditions

We provide specialized exercise programs for patients with pulmonary conditions in the Outpatient Neuro Physical Therapy Department. Working closely with the Department of Thoracic Surgery at the University of Maryland, we treat individuals who are candidates for lung volume reduction surgery (LVRS) or other procedures used for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Rehabilitation focuses on increasing aerobic capacity, general conditioning activities, strengthening exercises, lifestyle modification, and education for patients, their families, and caregivers.

We have easy access to the building, with curbside drop-off, extra wheelchairs, and scooters available for use at the front entrance. Please note that we require a physician’s referral and insurance authorization for Physical Therapy services. For further information or to arrange an appointment, please call 410-448-6421.
