Andrew Abramowitz, M.D.

Andrew Abramowitz, M.D.

Dr. Abramowitz practices general pediatric orthopaedic surgery and has special expertise in the orthopaedic treatment of neuromuscular disorders such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and muscular dystrophy (in both children and adults). Dr. Abramowitz received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Boston University and served his residency at the Boston University Medical Center and Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield, Mass. Dr. Abramowitz completed a Pediatric Orthopaedic Fellowship at the Gillette Children's Hospital and the Shriners Hospital for Children in Minnesota. He also did a fellowship in Limb Lengthening and Deformity at the Minnesota Limb Length Center with Dr. Mark Dahl.

Dr. Abramowitz's clinical experience includes working at the Nemours Children's Clinic in Orlando, Fla., and the Shriners Hospital for Children in Shreveport, La. He has worked with teaching residents in both of those settings and was the assistant director of the gait lab in the Shreveport Shriners Hospital. He currently practices general pediatric orthpaedics in Mt. Airy, Md., as part of Maryland Pediatric Orthopaedic Center. He is a member of the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine as well as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Abramowitz is board certified in orthopaedic surgery, author of numerous publications and presentations, and has significant experience in treating pediatric orthopaedic patients.

Keisha DePass, M.D.

Keisha DePass, M.D.

Dr. DePass earned her medical degree at Cornell University Medical College. She completed her residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital and a Pediatric Orthopaedic Fellowship at the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Delaware in 2006.

Dr. DePass is currently a board eligible orthopaedic surgeon, having successfully completed the first step towards certification. She is a candidate member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America. She has served as the chapter president, and vice president for the Student National Medical Association at Cornell University Medical College. She has published multiple chapters and articles on pediatric orthopaedic topics.

Currently, Dr. DePass has joined the Maryland Pediatric Orthopaedic Center as a pediatric orthopaedic specialist. She treats patients both non-operatively and operatively for all disorders that affect the musculoskeletal system of children. This includes, but is not limited to, common spinal deformities, hip dysplasia, cerebral palsy, sports injuries and fractures. She has a particular interest in spinal deformity and upper extremity problems in children.

She is currently a member of the medical staff at multiple hospitals in the Baltimore region, including St Agnes Hospital, Kernan Hospital and the University of Maryland. She also sees patients in the outpatient setting in Mount Airy, Maryland. She holds a faculty appointment as a Clinical Instructor for the University Of Maryland Department Of Orthopaedics.
