Brain Injury Program

Physicians and Staff

The treatment approach at Kernan Hospital is uniquely personalized and goal-oriented. At admission, members of the patient care team perform comprehensive assessments of patient needs. These team members then work together to create an individualized treatment plan and provide ongoing care designed to help the patient work toward his or her rehabilitation goals. This approach ensures a high degree of ongoing medical attention and continuity of care for each patient.

Depending on individual patient needs, the team on our inpatient brain injury rehabilitation unit may include:

  • Neurologists
  • Certified rehabilitation nurses/nurses
  • Speech-language pathologists
  • Physical therapists
  • Occupational therapists
  • Case managers
  • Recreational therapists
  • Clinical dietician
  • Neuropsychologist
  • Respiratory therapists
  • Psychiatry support staff
  • Patient care associates/nursing technicians
To refer a patient to any one of these brain injury rehabilitation programs, or for more information, contact the University Post-Acute Care Referral Service at 410-328-8680.
